IN ASSOCIATION WITH
EDUCATION
BABINGTON HOUSE SCHOOL:
INSPIRING TEACHERS, INSPIRING CHILDREN
IT IS REPORTED THAT DEMAND FOR PLACES AT PRIVATE SCHOOLS HAS JUMPED BY AS MUCH
AS 30 PER CENT BECAUSE PARENTS OF STATE-EDUCATED CHILDREN FEAR THAT THEY HAVE
FALLEN BEHIND DURING LOCKDOWN. AT BABINGTON, WHERE PUPILS HAVE LOGGED IN DAILY
FOR REGISTRATION AND BENEFITED FROM A FULL CURRICULUM OF LIVE ONLINE LESSONS
AND ACTIVITIES, WE HAVE CERTAINLY SEEN AN INCREASE IN ADMISSIONS ENQUIRIES.
The digital divide between the state
and private school sector has been
more evident during lockdown and
smaller class sizes have made it easier
to provide online learning.
Smaller class size is one of the main
reasons why you send your child to
an independent school, it is proven
they learn more quickly and a class of
20 children is ideal. Immediately pupils
are placed in a situation where they
engage and interact with each other
and with their teacher, they are
surrounded with attention and
encouragement, creating an excellent
climate for learning.
In schools with small class sizes, usually
found within independent schools, any
issues are identified much earlier and
can be addressed and supported.
Students generally behave better and
get more work done, the teacher gets
to know their pupils better and lasting
friendships are formed amongst the
children, creating a strong class and
school community.
But small class size alone does not
ensure an excellent education. The
quality of the teaching, the school
leadership, the size of the school, the
amount of parent involvement, are
important to consider too.
At whatever stage of their education,
finding the right school for your child
is so important, it should be an
environment where he or she can be
happy, learn and thrive.
Babington is an excellent school
achieving amazing results and
inspiring pupils from the sixth form
right down to the nursery. Babington’s
early years provision is top of the
Bromley Borough league tables for
the third year running.
The school has just over 420 pupils
from 3 to 18 and is co-educational
throughout. Babington achieves
excellent results but
also believes in
developing the whole
child, encouraging
pupils to become
confident, enabled
young people.
Being a small school
has BIG advantages. It
has high standards of
behaviour, dress and
conduct, benefiting
from no more than 20
children in a class and
a strong sense of community. Babington is committed to outstanding music,
drama, sport and the arts in their broadest sense, and offers a wealth of extracurricular
opportunities.
Headmaster, Tim Lello comments “Our commitment to provide an academic
and well-rounded education, tailored to the needs of our pupils is really paying
off. Our pupils and parents have been rightly impressed by the excellent and full
programme of on-line lessons and support we have provided during the lockdown
and we are achieving excellent results.”
