DOVIZIOSO REPELS MARQUEZ FOR
THE WIN AT THE SEASON OPENER
At the last period of the season opener,
Dovizioso on the Ducati and Marquez on
the Honda had a gigantic battle for the
win. Marquez on the Hard tyre at the
front and Soft at the rear, Dovizioso on
the Medium at the front and Soft at the
rear. Honda looked better on the
braking and corner entries, Ducati was
strong in the straights. From driver
point of view, it was pretty clear,
Marquez has one shot at glory: he must
overtake Dovizioso at the last corner,
otherwise, even the slipstream won’t
help him against the raw power of the
Ducati…He went for the overtake, he
was ahead of the Ducati until the middle
of corner, where he went really wide
because of the really late braking.
Dovizioso was well aware of what

Marquez tries to do, he easily took
advantage of it, with a late apex and
early acceleration from the last corner
he took back and kept the Lead with no
problem. Marquez was maybe too
optimistic with his braking point, but
regardless, he had to try, and I was full
of joy thanks to that! Moto GP showed
again, why is it such an awesome
Championship to watch!
