om Fox lived three doors down from the Union Gables Mansion Inn in the heart of Saratoga Springs, New York Tom always saw the

potential and beauty of the building. As time crept on he continually saw it get more and more run down. Tom did historic renovations and felt the owners at that time didn’t have respect for the building. So he solved the problem, Tom acquired the property and became the inn’s owner. That was 10 years ago. For the first several years he had other innkeepers manage it while he continued to operate his historic renovation company. Four years ago Tom decided to be hands-on and manage the inn and a year later he married his wife Barbara in a lovely ceremony right on the property. Tom says, “Barbara has turned the whole place around, as she is a nationally known artist and has an eye for detail”. Due to the wonderful changes and additions like a heated in ground pool, beautiful gardens, they have also replaced all the furniture at the inn, twice. Tom says, “We keep buying better, more interesting period antiques and furnishings and as a result the business has doubled each year.” We are very fortunate to have Jane as our Innkeeper and Carla in Marketing, as they both came to the Inn in the beginning of 2014. Jane’s wit, charm and endless energy, and Carla’s enthusiasm and friendliness, delight guests of all ages.

The 10,000 square foot, luxury property offers 10 rooms all with gas fireplaces and is located one block from the famous Saratoga Springs Race Track. The inn is centrally located on one acre to shopping, dining and everywhere else you need to go in Saratoga Springs. The rooms are the largest in town and the massive porch out front spans 120 feet and is the perfect place to sit out and enjoy a glass of wine. Or better yet there are the award winning Japanese gardens that are perfect for an afternoon stroll or for an evening of stargazing!

Each evening at the inn guests are treated to appetizers and wine to enjoy before going out to dinner. Each morning they awake to a buffet breakfast as well as made-to-order homemade omelets, pancakes and other specialties of the house.

True luxury and refinement have prevailed here thanks to its current owners. For those looking for a longer stay Tom and Barbara have restored and created a 14-luxury residence across the street from the inn called the Alexander House Luxury Residences. It offers fully furnished apartments from 900-3,000 square feet. You’d think that all this would be enough ….not quite…. they’re adding on a great addition there too!
