anice Gardner became an inn owner quite by chance when she was asked to invest in luxury inn in Charleston, South Carolina. Janice says, “I fell in love with inn when I was served breakfast
in my room. I had the quiche and thought this is so delicious”. She loved everything about the 11-room house. “I’ve stayed at other B&Bs before and loved the business.” That was seven years ago and with staff and a full time manager the inn is one of the most coveted in the city not only for its historic significance, but also for its tasteful design and décor and friendly and accommodating staff.
The historic 11-room inn offers comfortable luxury that is welcoming, relaxing and refined all wrapped up together. As soon as enter the inn you’ll notice the chandeliers are on and when you enter the foyer you will see the beautiful ornate staircase that takes you upstairs to your room. The house is so alive and welcoming! Guest’s love sitting outside on the verandah, it is a peaceful and beautiful spot to sit to enjoy your morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. Janice says, “Our dining room is another favorite place to gather and it’s quite common that our dining room table is full at tea time and everyone around it is chatting and having a nice visit.”Every guest room is individually decorated with warm colors and rich linens and amenities. The most popular guestroom in the house is the Rutledge Suite, as it has its own fireplace, private porch and enormous marble bathroom. The suite is over 500 square feet and it is definitely a luxurious private oasis.
Each morning a hot breakfast made in house is served to guests in the majestic dining room, at 4:30 guests can gather again for wine and cheese accompanied by inn-made savories and sweets.
