remember flying down very big hills on my sled, racing my friends and laughing all the way down. I still have some scars

to prove it! That was when I was a kid, with no cares except playing with my siblings and friends. Every kid loves those school snow days. As I moved into adulthood those glorious days of freedom from responsibility and work changed into working whether it snowed or not. I grew up in Washington DC and remember many winters wanting to escape the cold and head south for warmer weather to give myself a break from shoveling snow or cleaning the frost off the car windshield every time I needed to go somewhere.

Now I live in Florida and my favorite time of year here is from November to May when the weather is the perfect temperature for having fun outdoors. You can go to the beach, fish, water ski, drink margaritas, sleep in a hammock, or any other type of outdoor activity you can imagine. There are plenty of music festivals, loads of art festivals or fairs, and it's the perfect time to canoe, kayak, jet-ski or ride an air boat. Who doesn't like the feel of a nice breeze on your face while traversing on a body of water with your favorite means of transportation? If you have never experienced an airboat ride, you’re really missing out, it’s exhilarating. Take the time to explore the history and cultural of an area and feast on delicious southern cuisine. As I write this I am sitting on my balcony watching the blue herons play across the water, a lady kayaking, a couple canoeing and teenagers waiting to see who gets to ride the jet ski next, along with neighbors playing on the golf course across the lake. Doesn't that sound wonderful?
