Owner Helen Kerwin and family created this destination, one building at a time 20 years ago. It encompasses secluded cabins, century old guesthouses, the main lodge and even a restored Santa Fe Railroad Car. 4. Country Woods Inn welcomes families, family reunions, couples and weddings. Family is very important to the Kerwin clan and they specialize in family reunions and weddings. Country Woods is also known for their famous farm stay vacations with 28 barnyard animals. Families love the animals and there is nothing like a day of running and playing outdoors and fishing or swimming down at the river. Along with the lodging accommodations Country Woods Inn have converted their old stable into a rustic venue for weddings, reunions and retreats. The inns lodging can accommodate up to 45 guests. The Main House offers a huge country kitchen that is home to a large harvest table, which has hosted family and friends diners and intimate weddings over the years.
The chapel overlooks the beautiful Paluxy River that dinosaurs use to roam. The winding stone path leads you to the front French glass doors and as you enter and look up the stained glass cross greets you from above the altar. This authentic chapel is every bridal couples’ dream with its old-fashioned bell tower and long rope that hangs down can be rung after each “I do”.
The benches and wooden floors are the perfect backdrop for beautiful ceremonies of up to 50 with additional seating outside for more guests. Receptions can be held throughout the property whether you choose the big barn, front lawn, or tents in the meadow outdoors under the big sky, the staff at Country Woods can make dreams your come true! And that is what fairy tales are made of especially at the Country Woods Inn!
