or all the years she served as an actress, Flash Film Works production manager,

and visual effects producer, many in the Los Angeles film industry kept telling Penny Mesa she had missed her calling as host, or events planner.

She started off her 20-year film industry career as an actress in Canada, then became co-owner of a Los Angeles visual effects company that worked on films such as Collateral Damage, Deep Blue Sea, Red Planet and other blockbuster films.

When her marriage to Emmy Award-winning husband, William Mesa, wrapped up and her education completed, Mesa decided to purchase a 100-acre country estate southwest of Perth, Ontario and start a B&B.

Here is Penny’s Story;

"We all have visions of a perfect scenario. We all have visions of the perfect scenario where life clicks together, creating a beautiful picture of ourselves in our own little paradise, and sometimes searching for the right puzzle piece to complete our beautiful picture can be a long journey. Mine began with being a good mother, stepmother, and wife — and thanks to these — I found the skill set needed to become an innkeeper. Following are just a few key elements that directed me here. Somehow through life's journey to become good mother, stepmother, and wife to an Emmy award-winning husband — ­during this important family part of my life — I also became co-business partner of our LA-based visual effects company. If you asked me then what my ultimate goal in life was — an owner of a B&B called Suite Miss Scarlett would not have been the answer.
