eet MacKenzie Smith, the Executive Chef at Black Dolphin Inn, New
Smyrna Beach, Florida. Breakfast is a treat at
the Black Dolphin Inn which has an open-air, exhibition-style kitchen which allows the guests to view MacKenzie at her best. Each morning she talks with the guests as she makes their special breakfasts. Maybe she will serve up some of her popular shrimp and grits for you, or you may get lucky and get one of her very famous grilled cheese creations.
MacKenzie is an ex-Brooklynite currently living in Florida. She created GrilledCheeseSocial.com and works in many aspects of the food industry, including food styling, photography, social media content creation, recipe development, writing, catering, branding and media consultation.
You may have seen MacKenzie compete on Guy’s Grocery Games this past summer. She was competing so she could take her family on a super sweet no-stress vacation in one of her favorite foodie countries in the world – Italy! And luckily, it worked, she won!!
MacKenzie’s work has appeared in Martha Stewart, Real Simple Magazine, Buzzfeed, Thrillist, Eater, Huffington Post, Style Me Pretty, Refinery 29, The FeedFeed, Spoon University and more. She was also recently named one of Refinery29's Top 10 NYC Food Instagrams to Follow and was one of Thrillist’s 24 NYC Instagrams.
Her food styling clients include: Jimmy Fallon (for People Magazine), Giselle Bundchen (table-top book), Samsung, Wisconsin Cheese, ACME Brooklyn, AOL Lifestyle Network, Tervis Tumbler, Farm Rich Snacks, Cobblestone Bread, A&B American Style Condiments, and Saveur Magazine.
Her catering clients include Birchbox, Refinery 29, Benefit Cosmetics, USA Today, Sony Music, Megahn Trainor, Kyle Chandler and more.
She’s also made live cooking demos on The Couch (CBS), at the International Association of Culinary Professions, The Basque Culinary Center, and Blue Moon’s 20 Year Anniversary Party in Orlando, FL. She’s done grilled cheese pop-ups in New York, California, Wisconsin, Florida, Spain and Germany.
She was a formerly an editorial assistant for Saveur Magazine, the website director and cheesemonger for Depanneur Brooklyn and has also managed social media clients such as SW Basics, AHeirloom, Depanneur Brooklyn, Brooklyn Slate, and Simple Squares.
