Food glorious food! Since this month's issue is covering all things gourmet, I would be remiss not to mention all of the amazing restaurants culinary enthusiasts can discover at inns all across North America. Forging on with our new format of Top 10 lists, get ready to indulge in the ultimate enticement for your eyes (in no particular order).

1) Virtu at Bespoke Inn – Scottsdale, AZ

Virtu, located in Scottsdale, AZ, is a Machiavellian term for achieving excellence, and that is exactly what chef and owner Gio Osso has done with the meals he serves at the restaurant. With his Mediterranean-inspired menu that changes almost weekly, foodies can experience a range of handmade pastas, premium seasonal produce, and seasonal cocktails crafted with fresh-pressed juices and unique spirits.

2) The Ravens Restaurant at Stanford Inn by the Sea – Mendocino, CA

Boasting outstanding vegan cuisine that could get even the most dedicated carnivores to convert, The Ravens’ Restaurant in Mendocino, CA is one of the tastiest health-conscious restaurants foodies will ever come across. Many of the ingredients they use come from the Stanford Inn’s Big River Nurseries onsite, which is a USADA Certified Organic Farm, but the dream of going green does not stop at the food. The wine list is comprised of selections from certified organic or biodynamic vineyards; all food wastes are composted and used for the garden beds; and all glass, papers, and cardboards are recycled.

3) Redbook Restaurant at Hillbrook Inn & Spa – Charles Town, WV

With menus that are tailored to each guest’s specific dietary needs, the concept of the Redbook Restaurant in Charles Town, WV is intricate yet simple: record every meal served over the last 20 years in their famous red books, which are displayed in the romantic dining room. Guests are guaranteed not to receive the same meal twice from their talented culinary team, who curate seasonally changing prix fixe menus that feature the freshest, local ingredients available. The five-course dinner is served daily at either 7:00pm or 8:00pm.

4) Muse Restaurant and Heron Wine Bar at Wakefield Mill Hotel & Spa – Wakefield, QC

Led by Chef de Cuisine Rémi-Paul Duval, the restaurants at Wakefield Mill Hotel & Spa provide guests with sensational menus based on a traditional French and Québécois style, which seamlessly combines local produce with innovative international influences. Muse Restaurant is open daily for breakfast and dinner, while the Heron Wine Bar is open daily from noon. The cuisine can also be paired with exceptional wines from boutique vineyards around the world, chosen for the cellar by professional sommeliers.
