Teri and Roger Walker spent the last 20 years in the United Kingdom as working professionals. They both enjoyed their US drive holidays and staying in Inns across America. Teri decided to leave the corporate world, return to the US and bought the 1802 House Bed and Breakfast Inn two years ago.

They both loved the Kennebunkport area when they visited on holiday and were fortunate that the perfect Inn was on the market at the time. The property is a restored 1802 colonial that has been a B&B for 30 years. It needed some love and attention and Teri was fast to get her changes in order. There are six rooms ranging in size from small with private bath and walk-in showers, larger rooms with two-person spa tubs, to the luxurious Sebago Suite, which is ideal for special occasions. "The guests are always commenting on how spotless the Inn is and how comfortable and relaxing they find it here. As we've worked on refurbishing the property, we've focused on adding modern amenities while keeping the historic charm intact." Their hard work has paid-off, the inn has gone from #12 on Trip Advisor to #3 thanks to the great feedback from their guests!

The inn is a 10 minute stroll from all the hustle and bustle of Kennebunkport's Dock Square, but sits in a quiet neighborhood where guests wake to the sound of bird song. They too are neighbors with the historic Cape Arundel Golf Club. The Inn sits along the 15th hole and they offer Play and Stay packages for golfers.

Every morning guests wake up to the aroma of fresh baked muffins. There is a three-course breakfast and everything is made fresh daily at the Inn using local Maine ingredients. Fresh brewed tea and Maine roasted coffee, fruit juices, cranberry apple juice that comes from a local orchard along with fruit with yogurt and granola. House entrée favorites include a savory cheese and chive soufflé with roasted tomatoes and sausage or baked cheese blintz with mixed berry compote.

Says Teri,"In my corporate job there were always difficult people. But in this new life everyone has been very friendly, kind and positive and makes our job so enjoyable! I love Kennebunkport and I love being an Innkeeper."
