The Esmeralda Inn & Restaurant in Chimney Rock, NC, was originally built by Colonel Tom Turner in 1891. He named it after the main character in a favorite book titled Esmeralda by Frances Hodges Burnett, who wrote the love story while staying nearby. The property’s history and setting drew Innkeepers Kim and Don Cason to purchase The Esmeralda three years ago.
