The UK Innovation Forum uses its online forums , brokering meetings , databases of licensable technologies and start-up executives , plus other services , to allow business people who turn technological innovations into commercial success , to collaborate with each other and with British universities and other research institutions and laboratories that produce worldclass innovative technologies .

The Institute of Knowledge Transfer ( IKT ) is the body devoted to supporting and promoting the individual knowledge professional : those involved in innovation , enterprise , and the transfer , exchange , sharing and management of knowledge .
IKT sets the standards for development of the knowledge professional and addresses issues surrounding accreditation , training and sharing of best practice . Existing bodies bring together the organisations involved in knowledge exchange . IKT is different . It is dedicated solely to meeting the needs of individuals and spans all types of knowledge exchange from SME ’ s to large multi-nationals whether it involves universities , private industry , public research establishments or government agencies .
The IKT prides itself on the range of services and benefits that help its members develop themselves as knowledge professionals including the IKT Quality Mark , Enterprise For Employability ( E4E ), CPD Activities , Mentoring , Innovation Tours , InImpact Journal and the Annual Conference - Innovation Through Knowledge Transfer .
There are four levels of membership : Fellow for those esteemed in the field ; Member for those with 4 + years experience ; Associate for those embarking and developing a career in the field ; and Affiliate Membership for those who have an interest in KT and the Institute . There is also the IKT Institutional Membership for those organisations wishing to benefit from our services .
