ADP is a national practice with eight UK studios supporting clients across the country – from Edinburgh and Glasgow through to Newcastle , Manchester , Birmingham , Oxford , London and Sherborne .
We work with organisations in the health , science and research industries – including 14 universities ; the NERC , British Antarctic Survey , Oxford Science Park , Rutherford Appleton and Daresbury Laboratories and have recently been working with Culham Science Park developing their overall site masterplan .
In the higher education sector , the practice has delivered a number of high profile teaching laboratory buildings , including the Central Teaching Laboratory – winner of both an S-Lab and Guardian newspaper Higher Education Award .
In the healthcare sector , ADP supports clients across the spectrum of acute and community healthcare provision and delivers turnkey commercial pathology hubs which improve turnaround times for samples , increasing quality of service and ultimately , patient care .
A current project is for the University of Leeds , where ADP has been commissioned to deliver an £ 85m project to develop a new science quarter .
Recent Projects British Antarctic Survey
The Innovation Centre is a joint venture between British Antarctic Survey , NERC and the University of Cambridge to support interdisciplinary collaborative research projects involving polar
expertise , entrepreneurial activity on climate change , environmental stewardship , and technologies for extreme environments .
Lancaster University
The new laboratory facility for Lancaster University amalgamates the teaching needs of both the biological and environmental science departments into a single two storey building . Through a rigorous briefing and timetabling exercise
ADP developed two flexible ‘ superlabs ’ that changed the way that preparatory work
and teaching was delivered , both improving utilisation and increasing the ability to expand in the future .
Innovation Centre , University of Essex
The Innovation Centre is a flagship project for the University of Essex Knowledge Gateway site , and reflects the growing trend for enterprise parks on university campuses , which aim to bring research and business together under one roof . The Knowledge Gateway development will build upon the East of England ’ s worldclass science and technology base .
