Norwich Research Park is a thriving community of science and technology based businesses co-located within a unique cluster of world-class institutions which comprises four life science research institutes , a teaching hospital with clinical trials facility and a university .
The Park offers support to companies in the life science sector with particular focus on food and health , industrial biotech , agribiotech , med biotech and genomics . The institutions on the Park encompass the research-intensive University of East Anglia , three of the UK ’ s eight Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council ( BBSRC ) strategically funded research institutes - the John Innes Centre , the Institute of Food Research , and The Genome Analysis Centre - the independently funded Sainsbury Laboratory and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust . New Centre for Food & Health Norwich Research Park will be the home to the Quadram Institute , a new £ 81.6 million Food & Health research centre . Scheduled to open in Spring 2018 , the Quadram Institute will enable a step change in food and health research science by providing new insights and accelerating innovation that will deliver new foods and treatments for the benefit of society .
