Samples of Orion aviation eyewear have successfully undergone field and laboratory trials with National Police Air Service and featured in a recent BBC news bulletin .
Manufactured by plasma assisted deposition onto glass ophthalmic lenses , the coatings are extremely durable and robust , meeting all the major military environmental specifications .
The coatings can be applied to standard prescription and non-prescription eyewear .
