If you’re a sneakerhead, you’ve most likely have seen and admired the work of shoe designer Jason Mayden. He got his start in design as the first design intern for Jordan Brands and climbed the ranks to Lead Designer for the iconic brand. “Being around Michael Jordan gave me the confidence and knowledge to transcend my sport which is design. Also, to lean into the things that make me unique and different,” shares Mayden. After his 13-year career with Nike and Jordan Brands, he wanted to pursue another venture he was passionate about—Super Heroic. Super Heroic’s mission is to help every child unlock their superpowers through footwear and apparel designed especially for kids and made for all day play. How Super Heroic came about Super Heroic came about from years of understanding that there’s an underserved market as it relates to children and how children actually grow and their bodies evolve, and also how they see the world.
