In line with understanding how CHILDLINE Hyderabad works, the team made field trips to DivyaDisha, orphanages run by SIDUR and the Juvenile Observation Home (Saidabad). In the final week at CSIM, the students visited government and private schools across the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. During their visits, they addressed students and teachers making them aware of this noble and powerful initiative. CHILDLINE Team: Nitya, Sagnik, Siddardha, Vinay and Sriram The team has had the privilege of associating with Centre for Social Initiative and Management (CSIM). CSIM is the nodal organization for the CHILDLINE project in Hyderabad. Founded by Ms. Jeroo Billimoria in 1996, CHILDLINE 1098 is India’s first 24-hour, toll-free, emergency phone service for children in need of aid and assistance. CHILDLINE operates in Hyderabad through three organizations – CSIM, DivyaDisha and Society for Integrated Development in Urban and Rural Areas (SIDUR). Through this 3-week period, the team came up with several activities that helped increase awareness of CHILDLINE 1098.
