Dear Readers, It gives us immense joy and unbound pleasure in bringing out the 3rd issue of iNM – the student magazine of NMiMS Hyderabad. We began our journey last year with a simple promise of bringing new ideas and thoughts through our magazine and we have kept our promise. As said by Napoleon Bonaparte, “Let the path be open to talent”. iNM provides a perfect platform for students to publish their articles by using their creativity and portraying their knowledge and talent across various areas of management. To begin with, we have a new logo for our readers and its credit goes, in entirety, to our in-house design team, who have put in their whole-hearted efforts in it. The compilation and design of the magazine was also handled by them, without any say, with an everlasting smile on their face. Invitations for the articles were sent out and we have received a very good response this time as well. The Committee is glad to inform that it received several entries from premier B-schools, making it all the more difficult to choose the winner. Through this note, we would like to thank all the authors and congratulate the winners in each category for their valuable contributions, giving academic wealth to this issue. This issue features articles on academic areas covering Finance, Economics, Marketing, Operations, Human Resources and General Management. The articles span across a wide range that include Supply chain management in the food retail sector in India, HRIS, Entrepreneurship, MSMEs - The Rising Stars, to the crisis in Kingfisher Airlines and Business Plan: An Essential Tool for Entrepreneurial Success, contributed by our esteemed visiting faculty Prof. Kiran Pedada. Also included are – Happenings at the Campus, Alumni Speak and a special column on our exciting “WE Care” winter internship projects at NGOs. A special mention to our NMiMS Alumnus, Mr. Arijit Sarker, who gracefully obliged to our request. We express our sincere thanks to our Director, Dr. B. Karunakar and our Deputy Registrar, Cdr (Retd.) C. Venkateswar for their continued support. Our special thanks to our dear faculty – Prof. SPR Vittal and Prof. Kavita Kulkarni- who helped us in the selection of articles. The magazine would remain incomplete without the mention of Prof. Sasmita Misra, who guided us through the entire process and helped us at every stage, right from conception through the final product. The Committee would also like to thank the college staff for providing us with everything we needed to come out with this magazine. We require your feedback for making our future editions better.
