Joseph knew he needed to explore the magical
realm at a very young age. It was almost a
compulsory, passionate, vital emotion. When
Joseph was a child, he sat in his room getting
frustrated at not being able to shut off his light
without touching it physically; racking his brain at
ways in which he could achieve such a feat. His dad
walked in, and with his son’s explanation simply
flipped the wall switch which did nothing but fuel
Joseph’s urge to find a way to achieve the magical
exploit on his own. This was the beginning of, as
Joseph describes it, catching the “buzz” of illusionist
craft, and pushing himself to find ways in which to
create the next exceptional trick.
Creativity runs in Joseph’s family, his father is a
musician, his younger brother Eli is a drummer,
producer, and a clothing designer. Joseph himself
is a musician, playing bass in the school jazz band,
and later, everything from punk to metal, while
honing his craft as a magician. His family and his
creativity also has an analytical side, physics and
math were his favorite subjects in school, and his
grandfather, an engineer, assisted him in bringing
his illusionary ideas into reality with his skills.
He describes weekends in the garage with his
grandfather bringing to life ideas he had in his head
only days or hours before, which gave him a close
relationship and the necessary aptitude to bring a
dreamscape goal to reality.
