Acey Slade MUSIC, MOTION & THE OUT OF MIND - CAPTURED Words: Kate Monahan When you hear the name, Acey Slade, more than one thing comes to mind. Or should I say band, photo, electric performer, or video game character basis? But Acey is more than just a bassist, guitarist, vocalist, photographer and world traveler, he’s one that finds pleasure in the process of all the art he partakes in. When you hear photographer, you might think of someone who sits still and doesn’t do much, but Acey is quite the opposite. At shows, he’s unstoppable, constantly moving and can play his guitar or bass while leaping into the air and doing the splits. When it comes to photography, the hunt is on. Music-wise, Acey has been a busy guy since 1999; his roster proves that without a doubt. Just getting back from a UK tour with Dope, he’s working on a solo album, Acey Slade, and at the same time a member of Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. And that’s just a few. You may know him from the following: Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (2010-current) Dope (Sony) (1999-2002, 2013-current) The Dark Party (2008-2010) Trashlight Vision (Sony/Red Distro) 2004-2007 Murderdolls (Universal/Roadrunner) 2002-2010 Not only that, but he’s been the touring guitarist for Amen (Sony), Wednesday 13, and Imperative Reaction. Acey played on the single, Tired and Lonely with Joey Jordison of Slipknot for the Roadrunner United 25th anniversary album. As for Acey as the video game character mentioned earlier, one some of you may have played yourself was the motio n capture of male punk singer and male rock guitarist for the video game, “Rock Band” based on Acey Slade. He is also working on a new solo 16 InkSpiredMagazine.com
