InkSpired Magazine: What inspired you to start getting tattooed?
Anita Joy: I have always been an artist myself, so art was already ingrained in me. I
remember one of my dad’s close friends while I was growing up was tattooed from his
collar to wrists and to his ankles. He was an elderly man while I was super young. His
tattoos were done in the military and appeared green. My brothers and I called him, “The
Green Man”. I would study his tattooed skin, completely fascinated and curious as he’d tell
us stories of where around the world and how he had his work done. He struck my interest
in tattooing from an early age but once my older brother started getting tattooed, I was
hooked.
