The CPS Creative Schools Certification is a quantitative examination,
launched in 2012-13, of the resources dedicated to arts education in each
Chicago public school. The Elementary School Certification takes into
account a school’s level of staffing, minutes of instruction, student access
and other criteria, such as budgeting and community partnerships. Each
school’s Arts Liaison reports data specific to their school annually, and that
information is then vetted against additional data sources, including district
budget files and partner data.
The following details the arts resources at each CPS elementary
school as they existed in the 2016–17 school year. Schools are listed in
alphabetical order by their common name, underneath which is their formal
school name. Schools that did not complete the Creative Schools Survey
are listed below as having “Incomplete Data.” A grayed-out cell indicates
that the corresponding school was not open for that school year.
