BEM Open Day 2018

he Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)
held its first “BEM Open Day” for all BEM
registered persons, university and school
students, parents and general public at Dewan Tan
Sri Mahfoz Khalid, JKR Jalan Sultan Salahuddin,
Kuala Lumpur on December 4-5, 2018. Co-
organised with Ministry of Works and Public Works
Department Malaysia in conjunction with National
Profession Technical Day 2018 (Hari Profesion
Teknikal Negara 2018), the event was officiated
by Yang Berhormat Tuan Baru Bian, Minister of
Works.
The two-day event was well attended, by BEM
registered persons i.e. Professional Engineers
with Practicing Certificate, Professional Engineers,
Graduate Engineers, Engineering Technologists
and Inspectors of Works as well as the general
public.
The objective of the BEM Open Day was to
highlight the effort, initiatives and achievements
by BEM in its role as a regulatory body and as a
custodian of the Registration of the Engineers Act
1967. It also provided opportunity for registered
