INGENIEUR Indonesia. It is suitable for locations away from national grid lines, potential installation locations being high-rise buildings in cities, fish farms, the highlands and isolated resorts. The CAWT was selected as one of the finalists and awarded the First Prize at the National Intellectual Properties Award or Anugerah Harta Intelek Negara (AHIN) 2016 under the “Patents” category. The invention was also awarded the place of 1st runner up during the Engineering Invention & Innovation Exhibition, EINIX, 2015 organised by The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM). Currently, the lead research group is developing an up-scale 300W prototype. The project is supported by the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FP053-2013B), the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education and the University of Malaya High Impact Research Grant (HIRG). Special appreciation is credited to the University of Malaya Centre of Innovation & Commercialisation (UMCIC) for the patent filing and support throughout the research process. ‟ The CAWT is more stable when compared to the HAWT especially during rough sea profiles in bad weather as its center of gravity is expected to be located in its lower portion.
