Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd (IWK) is the National sewerage
company of Malaysia, managing public sewerage systems in most
urban areas of West Malaysia under a concession agreement
with the Government of Malaysia. IWK’s business is very much
centered on Physical Infrastructure Assets such as sewage
treatment plants (STPs) and sewer pipeline networks. The total
number of STPs in Peninsular Malaysia is estimated to be more
than 10,000 plants (as of August 2015). Of these, more than
6,000 STPs serving a total population equivalent of nearly 22.6
million are operated by IWK. IWK also manages approximately
17,000 km of sewer network and about 62 Sludge Treatment
Facilities.
