●● ●● ●● ●● ●● ●● ●● ●● ●● ●● Multiple landfill cells lined with HDPE membrane for leachate containment; Comprehensive leachate collection and conveyance system; Landfill gas collection system; A 500m3 per day advanced leachate treatment plant with a membrane bioreactor and advanced nano-filtration system to meet the highest effluent discharge standards in China (COD: 40ppm, BOD:10ppm); A 60,000 m3 leachate balance pond with floating HDPE membrane cover; Full Scada and online monitoring system and smart-tag weighbridge system; Administration office, workshop and staff quarters; Internal roads and surface runoff system; Guardhouse and perimeter fences; and Embankments, slope revetment and emergency protection system. Presently, the Sanshui Landfill disposes 500 tonnes per day of waste and is designed to cater for 1,200 tonnes per day of waste in the future. Generation of leachate is minimized by temporary HDPE cover liner and separation system of surface runoff at the landfill cell. This Landfill Project received several awards from the Government at provincial and national levels: ●● “National 1 st Class Sanitary Landfill” by China Association of Urban Environmental Sanitation in September 2013. ●● “1 st Class Sanitary Landfill” in Urban Environmental and Sanitation of Guandong Province by Guangdong Provincial Government in July 2012; ●● Guangdong Provincial Award for Outstanding & Advanced Corporation from the Guangdong Business Council and Entrepreneur Association in July 2012. Leachate collected in the Landfill Cell is stored at leachate balancing pond for anaerobic treatment process and followed by secondary and tertiary treatment in the advanced leachate treatment plant. Membrane Bio-reactor and nano-filtration system was adopted in the Leachate Treatment Plant to meet the highest effluent discharge standard in China. 23
