on-the-job and coaching by international EnMS
experts and equipped with the expertise and the
tools required for providing the following services:

Learning goals
By the end of the two-day User Training the
trainees will have achieved the following learning

i. Good understanding of the elements of an
EnMS aligned with ISO 50001, including
a. Policy
b. Planning
c. Implementation and operation
d. Checking performance
e. Management Review
f. Integration of MS ISO 50001 energy
management sy s tems into other
management systems (ISO 9001, ISO
14001, ISO 22000, etc)
ii. Good understanding of the benefits of EnMS
and MS ISO 50001
iii. To be able to put together a high-level project
management plan (time, resources, costs, etc)
to implement an EnMS within their organisation
iv. To know the assistance and services offered by
the UNIDO project and where to find additional
resources and information
v. To report back on the EnMS and its benefits to
top management
vi. To be able to initiate the development and
implementation of an EnMS
Target groups
The User Training is targeted at staff in industries,
representatives from production or operations
and representatives with management system
experience where applicable.

Energy Management User Training Programme
Objective
The objective of this two-day training, targeted
to enterprises’ staff designated by enterprises’
management as responsible for developing and
implementing the energy management system
within the company, is to provide trainees with
the knowledge, understanding and tools that
will enable them to initiate the development and
implementation of an EnMS aligned with ISO
50001.
User Training Structure
The EnMS User Training Programme consists of
one module over a two-day period. The two- day
User training is delivered through traditional
classroom sessions to groups of 25 trainees
(desirable maximum 20 personnel) by a team of
two instructors (international and/or national).
