SEDA Malaysia Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Systems Course for Wireman and Charge man Persons holding Suruhanjaya Te n a g a ( S T ) ’ s Wireman and C h a r g e m a n certificates have minimal training in PV systems since PV technology is relatively new in the country. In collaboration with ST, SEDA has developed a PV technology course for holders of these ST certificates. The five-day course is structured to expose the trainees to solar PV technology. Specifically, the course covers both the basic GCPV systems which include solar PV modules, inverters and associated equipment; and the basic installation and maintenance of the GCPV systems. The training encompasses both theoretical and practical sessions, ending with a competency examination. Only wiremen who have this additional certificate are allowed to conduct testing and commissioning of PV systems and sign off on the relevant documents. This certificate is also mandatory for chargemen employed in maintaining solar PV systems requiring an operating license from ST, this is normally required for plants with installed capacity of greater than 72 kW. The minimum requirement for enrolment into this course is Chargeman AO certificate or
