ailway electrification using the public power
supply system started more than 15 years
ago. This was marked with the launching
of the RapidKL Light Rail Transit systems (LRTs)
comprising the Kelana Jaya Line and the Ampang
Line, and the KTMB Klang Valley Commuter Rail
System for mass public transportation service.
The country is now actively pursuing other
major railway infrastructure projects such as
the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (KVMRT),
comprising MRT Line 1 (Sg. Buloh-Kajang),
MRT Line 2 (Sg.Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya) and
LRT 3 (Bandar Utama-Klang), the completion
of the KTMB North-South double-tracking rail
electrification, and
