Powerhouse
Murum HEP has a surface powerhouse to
accommodate four turbines complete with
the associated electrical and mechanical
installations, an erection bay and an unloading
bay (see Figure 20). The powerhouse is 102.5m
long, 43.5m wide and 53.9m high. A three-storey
administration building is annexed to the
downstream of the unloading and erection bays.
The installed turbines are vertical axis Francis
Turbines with a rated capacity of 236MW per
unit at a flow rate of 86 m3/s.
