The “ Warisan Sungei Klang ” group is now turning the abutment wall below the new bridge into murals depicting Klang ’ s historical and iconic buildings , and an old train that once plied between Kuala Lumpur to Port Swettenham . Credit must be given to this group for creating activities on environmental awareness and appreciation for the nostalgic features of the old Klang Kota Bridge .
A group of members from the newly formed “ Warisan Sungei Klang ” comprising mainly Klang residents celebrated the 60th anniversary of the old Klang Kota Bridge on December 31 , 2016 with programmes such as a painting exhibition by artists and talks on the history of Klang town and Kota Bridge . The bridge is no longer used for its original purpose but has been retained as part of Klang ’ s heritage .
