Figure 22 : The Three-Stage Goals of MAMPAN
developing the world congress on infrastructure via extensive partnership with neighbouring countries between 2018 and 2020 . In addition , it involves participation with leading industry players on a platform to promote awareness and acceptance of sustainable practices . The longterm goal of MAMPAN is to raise the perception of sustainability in construction in Malaysia by 2020 and beyond by shaping policy discussions through a series of engagement activities with Government agencies and private sector stakeholders .
A governance structure has also been set up to administer the delivery of each expected outcomes from the four strategic thrusts embedded in the CITP . The governance structure comprises four levels of working groups . The first level working group entails 20 initiative working groups , which are also known as the Initiative Working Groups ( CITP-IWG ), these include representatives from different Government and industry backgrounds . These initiative-working groups are classified under four thrust working groups known as Thrust Working Group ( CITP-TWG ). All the TWGs at the second level working group have to inform the CITP ministerial committee on the progress of all the 20
IWGs . At the highest level of the CITP governance structure is the Cabinet / special committee on services sector headed by the Prime Minister . As for the environmental strategic thrust , MAMPAN has the obligation to inform progress and achievement of these initiatives to the IWG6 that is entrusted to steer and monitor the development of sustainable ratings . IWG6 then reports to TWG2 , which is responsible for addressing roadblocks in the implementation of the CITP . When necessary , TWG2 has to escalade issues up the chain to the CITP ministerial committee chaired by the Minister of Works .
In short , there are three key deliverables of MAMPAN , namely developing and promoting the sustainable infrastructure rating tool for Malaysia , acting as the key driver towards sustainable construction practice and supporting and promoting sustainable development projects in the construction industry as indicated in Figure 24 . The ultimate outcome of these deliveries is to ensure comprehensive environmental sustainability practice in all construction projects in the country through enhanced awareness and understanding of the importance and implication of sustainable construction .
