Teal Blue is the New Orange !

For a Happier and Safer Halloween
It is that time again ! Fall is here and that means your little goblins are getting excited and probably beginning to think about Halloween .
Sometimes this annual event of trick or treating can be fun for kids but scary for the parents because of their child ’ s food allergies .
Introducing the Blue Pumpkin Food project , developed by the Food Allergy Research & Education Center ( FARE ). This new campaign has been designed to make Halloween safe for all children but mainly for children who suffer with food allergies that could be hidden in all types of candy given out on trick or treat nights for Halloween .
It is a serious situation for children who suffer with food allergies . Halloween ’ s trick or treat night can become a nightmare for parents , the safety risk of a child eating a piece of candy that could contain nuts or other foods that the child is allergic to can create a real health concern .
FARE began this project by creating an awareness with suggesting a family display a teal blue pumpkin or a sign of a teal blue pumpkin on Halloween . This teal blue pumpkin represents that non candy items will be passed out on trick or treat night for children who may have food allergies .
Non-food items can be stickers , crayons , erasers , bubbles , spider rings , vampire teeth , glow sticks , just to name a few . Amazon and the Oriental Trading Co , online have a variety of items to choose from .
Get the whole family involved and when it is time to carve the pumpkin , paint a pumpkin teal blue and begin a tradition that will last for years to come and it will greatly benefit children who are at risk with food allergies .
