In ragged clothes they walked the land,

Hand in hand along the road.

And through the dirt and grime

A melancholy beauty flowed

Many years they┬┤d walked the roads

In search of precious things now lost.

For once in beauteous lands they dwelt

Forsaken now at such great cost.

As they walked by sadness overcame the land

And wars and famines followed on.

Please what is your name before you leave?

The man he stopped, and turning around

Replied with softness in his voice Do you not know

For I am Adam and my wife is Eve

THE WALKERS.
