The old lady looks out over her garden

It’s a cool spring morning so she dresses warm

Sitting in the conservatory sipping lemon tea

On the small table a plate of warm toast

In the garden yellow daffodils compete

With the scarlet tulips

The flower bed blanketed with blue dwarf hyacinths

Purple crocuses push through the green grass

She smiles peacefully

Do not cry for me or be sad

She had told her friends

Be happy because soon for me

The great adventure will begin

Smiling she falls asleep in her chair

A piece of warm toast in her hand

Falling

To grow cold on the floor

As the great adventure begins

THE GREAT ADVENTURE.
