Drawn to the 18th century, the period of his characters, he has come to use their past exploits, unique position and achievements which had been lost for almost one hundred years to create his own work of fiction.

Those past family members, their stories, and their history have become my paint box.’

“Very slowly, I am, re-discovering a little of their lives, their dreams, their aspirations. I trust I am doing them justice, making them proud of their descendant. In doing so, I am trying to bring them back to life, to reacquaint their lost history to a new generation. Of course I have elaborated; my family were never as nasty as the Wood family..... or I hope not.”
