Are you going to publish your poems?

I would like to publish my poems. Every writer, artist hopes at some level their work or art will be appreciated and I would be delusional not to acknowledge this. However I would like to publish to leave something of what I have done for my grandchildren. I have nothing from my grandparents except memories. I have written some of those memories in the series poems “Reflections in the Mirror Looking Back”. However as I have grown older myself I am more aware of the influence of my grandparents in my life even though it was only for a few years. Consequently I would like to leave something for my grandchildren, however it will probably have to wait till I retire.

Who is your favourite poet?

Robert Frost is the poet that has stayed with me. I first met his poetry in high school and although clichéd it is true his poem “The Road Less Travelled” has been a motif throughout my own life. For me, Frost’s work resonates on the border between the desolation and bleakness of nature and the hope of spring, not just in nature but at the deeper level of our souls. There is a slow pace to his work that is refreshing in the business and haste of daily life.
