IGE: Why concept and 3d art?

Hard question to answer but I would say because l have a background in traditional stone and

wood sculpting from the age of 15, digital tools give us more flexibility with experimenting and failing quickly and the more you fail the more likely you will succeed paradoxically. Not everything we do ends up being successful hence it allows me to create work very fast and go back if I feel I went to far with a piece of artwork I did which you can`t do with traditional medium.

IGE: Who is your biggest inspiration?

Artstation is the place where I spend most of my time to see what is going on and how much I

need to improve every year to get to the top. So much good work on there, very inspiring!

IGE: What are you working on now?

I get lots of work being thrown at me on a weekly basis and I only take what time allows.

IGE: What software do you use mostly?

ZBrush, Maya, Marvelous Designer and Marmoset Toolbag

IGE: Name 10 tips & tricks for beginners:

How to get better, how to improve? It`s a long process in which paradoxically frustration is the only way you can improve, if you are not frustrated in the process it means you are not learning! So don`t be afraid to hit walls, don`t get discouraged, it`s part of the process. It`s about how you

overcome difficulties that make you strive!

Practice is key, if you don`t work you won`t get better, so ultimately you can only get worse if you don`t work hard.

I always think that an artist is as good as it last piece in other words, not what he once was but what he becomes. We all fail and it`s how you recognize great artists is that they are not afraid to make mistakes, learn from them and not keep repeating the same ones, and then experiment outside their boundaries.

Eventually work leads us onto directions we would not have guessed existed.

Sketching is a fun and quick way to look out for other forms.

If you are not inspired don`t sweat it out, I would say have long breaks and think about what could inspire you, browse artist on the web and do some studies as they will teach you something, back in the days in the fine art schools people had to do study both from real artists and classic artists. We can only benefit from that approach. The worse enemy is yourself

You have nothing to prove to anyone except you, I see art as not a competition against others but

ultimately yourself. If you never listen to criticism eventually you shoot yourself in the foot. Think about Picasso and how much criticism he went through, he took into consideration and always tried to be different by renewing himself. Settling in you own style can be a prison as an artist. Think about Monet as a old man, his magnificent water lillies are so different from his earlier work. I believe art (talking broad even music, food, literature and art ) is about experimenting. It`s a bit like loving Thai food but not wanting to try out any other food.

You don`t know what you don``t know so try to learn what else is out there, being curious is the best strength aside commitment an artist can have. Never give up! If one thinks he knows it all, then there isn`t much future as a being I guess!

Remember what Richard Williams said about the man who learned all his life how to draw perfectly a

rabbit, that's all he knew how to draw, nothing else. It's a bit limited isnt it?

To stand out you need to go outside your comfort zone, hence it will take all of us a lifetime to

become better and more complete artists.
