Pernille Ripp is a 7th-grade teacher, mother, author, and speaker. She is the Creator of the Global Read Aloud and author of Passionate Readers: The Art of Reaching and Engaging Every Child,Passionate Learners: How to Engage and Empower Your Students (Routledge), Reimagining Literacy Through Global Collaboration, and Empowered Schools, Empowered Students. She has inspired many educators to help children take charge of their learning and to become avid readers.

Session 1-A Picture Book Taught Me This

While picture books are a staple of the elementary classroom, there often is no place for them with our older students, yet these are the students that need picture books the most. Discover how picture books can help older students close read, conquer complex message, become stronger writers,as well as spark their love of reading again all through the use of carefully selected picture books.

There will be a 15-minute break between sessions for your convenience of visiting the vendors.
