MEET FOUNDER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
DOUG ST. DENIS
Artist, writer, actor and architect
Doug St. Denis is a dynamic force
and champion of her hometown of
Coronado. Drawing from her passion
for the arts and Coronado’s legacy with
Hollywood and filmmaking, she founded
the Coronado Island Film Festival (CIFF)
in 2016 with great success. Now in its
third year, the four-day festival hosts
studio films, shorts, documentaries,
panels, parties, top talent and hordes of
cinema enthusiasts who descend upon
to Coronado each November.
We caught up with Doug to hear more
about the festival.
What inspired you to start this
festival?
I’ve always thought Coronado was the
ideal place for a film festival. Our love
affair with the movies goes back as

far as movies themselves. At the same
time they were experimenting with this
amazing new art form in Hollywood,
they were doing the same thing here.
