Surf Lessons
My family has always loved the beach, this island and Hotel del Coronado, so we
have visited every year since I was two. When our family had an opportunity to move
here four years ago from Northern California, we took it. I first started surfing at The
Del and really liked it. The surf lessons are awesome because the instructor breaks
down the steps, which makes it easy for anyone to actually get up. It’s really fun and
once you get hooked on the feeling, you’ll want to do it more and more.
The long boards are the way to go when you are trying to learn, as it’s easy to pop
up on them. The waves on that beach are pretty consistent, so even on the smaller
ones, you can get up and learn to love surfing. The day of our lesson was super
clear. We could see things on Point Loma that we have never seen before. After
surfing, we love to get warm in the hot tubs at The Del. Another time our family had
beach s’mores afterward, which was way fun. We also love having access to The
Del as members and being able to spend the whole day at the pools, beach, and
the restaurants. ENO is one of our favorites and the member breakfast is super
good. Now that I have my own board, I want to surf all of the time!
