P
leasant Hills Middle School Teachers Melissa
McCauley, Monica Ziemski Kilcoyne, and
Debbie Zanetti shared their G.O.L.D. (Girls
Only Leadership Development) Night with
educators and administrators at the 2018 PASA/PSBA
Leadership Conference Education Excellence Fair in
Hershey, PA. Innovative and exemplary education
programs are featured at the Education Excellence
Fair, and our middle school teachers had a booth set
up to showcase their GOLD Night event. Ninth-grade
students Delaney Beasock and Zoe Kirsch were set up
via Google Hangouts and they served as virtual special
guest contributors to provide their student perspective
as attendees last year. Over 40 step-by-step instructions
were handed out at the conference to educators looking
to replicate the event, and approximately 75 visitors
stopped by the booth to learn more. GOLD Night aims
to unite girls in grades 6, 7, and 8 by fostering positive
relationships, building confidence, and boosting
self-esteem through a variety of fun and educational
sessions. This school year’s GOLD Night is planned for
Friday, April 5, 2019, so mark your calendars!
