McClellan Elementary is the first school in the district to have an automatic water bottle filler . Last year , a parent noticed the students struggling to fill up their water bottles from our traditional water fountains . The students were only able to fill their bottles up half way because the water ended up spilling out all over the floor . The PTA voted to purchase an attachment to add on to our water fountain that would give students the ability to automatically fill their water bottles with filtered water . Additionally , it keeps track of how many water bottles are filled . This lets us know how many bottles we have saved from being thrown in the trash . In just two months , we ’ ve filled over 760 bottles ! Thanks again PTA for not only helping our students , but helping the environment as well .
