On behalf of the entire elementary administrative team , I would like to welcome you to the new school year ! Following a year of forward thinking and intense planning , we now begin a new chapter in the great history of this school district . There is little doubt that , from new housing to new schools , this district is transforming itself to rise as the premier district in Pennsylvania .
The reconfiguration of elementary schools represents a significant step forward for the entire district . We are now able to offer all children consistent programming , small group math and reading instruction , writing and science and much more . Personalizing learning is much like personalizing healthcare . By knowing students and their needs , educators can “ treat ” each child and truly provide a personalized learning experience . Flexible , small groups give students the opportunity to learn with other children who need the same “ treatment ” at specific points during the day . As with “ Flex Time ,” this approach provides students at every level of achievement the opportunity for daily enrichment or intervention in their core subjects . I am confident children will grow academically , socially and emotionally under our new system and encourage you to remain in contact with your child ’ s teacher ( s ) throughout the year .
The West Jefferson Hills School District is a beautiful school district filled with exemplary students , faculty , staff , and administrators . Because our personal core values of Respect , Integrity , and Empathy guide our collective work , children find themselves in a learning environment that all school districts should aspire to achieve . With parents and guardians as our partners in the development of children , remaining true to our core values and a constant focus on teaching and learning , I remain confident that our best days are ahead of us .
