In addition to expanding the library’s usable space and creating an opportunity for new programs, the Backyard has helped establish an exciting new partnership between the library and the Parkway West Rotary Club (PWRC). PWRC recently announced it will help fund a portion of the Backyard with proceeds from the 19th Annual Gerry Dulac Charity Golf Classic. Plans are already well underway for the summer golf outing on July 17 at the Sewickley Heights Golf Club. Golfers will be treated to a full-day event including breakfast, 18 holes of scramble golf on one of western Pennsylvania’s top private clubs, contests, prizes, a souvenir gift, dinner and an awards program featuring comments and Q&A from Gerry Dulac. Started in 1999, the outing has become one of the area’s premiere golf events while raising funds for numerous Parkway West Rotary Club charities and causes throughout the area. The library will announce more details as they become available. For now, save the date—July 17—and get your golf gear ready for a fantastic time on the greens.
