Moscone Project in Motion Construction is well underway on the massive Moscone Expansion Project, a $500 million undertaking that will keep San Francisco at the forefront of the nation’s convention trade. The expansion project, managed by Public Works, will add more than 305,000 square feet of functional area, including new exhibition space, meeting rooms and a large-capacity kitchen to the Moscone convention complex. And when completed, Moscone will be better integrated with the surrounding Yerba Buena neighborhood in the South of Market through streetscape changes designed to beautify the area and improve the pedestrian experience. A video shot earlier this month captured steel trusses coming down at Moscone South – a high-precision operation that is part of the demolition work. The project began in 2015 and is scheduled for completion in late 2018.
