Public Works plays a key role in the
project. We assigned a designated
crew in the Civic Center Health and
Cleanliness Project area Monday
through Friday, cleaning all of the
streets and sidewalks, removing
graffiti from public buildings and
safely disposing of all improperly
discarded hypodermic needles.
Our partner agencies work with
people living on the streets to assess
and connect them to appropriate
health and housing services, including
the Navigation Centers.
Outreach workers also will be on-site
to coordinate care for people with
health issues who can benefit from
substance and alcohol treatment and
primary and mental health care.
Together, we can fulfill our
overarching goal to create and
maintain a safe and healthy
environment for all who live, work
and visit the area.
Before the sun rises,
the City works to clean
the sidewalks and assist
those in need in front
of the Bill Graham
Civic Auditorium.
