San Francisco – and Public Works
and other City agencies are at the
forefront of delivering solutions to
address them.
With that as a backdrop, a
new initiative led by the City
Administrator’s Office is being
launched to improve the quality of life
in the greater Civic Center area.
The Civic Center Health and
Cleanliness Project is a collaborative
effort involving Public Works, the
Department of Public Health, the
San Francisco Police Department, and
the San Francisco Fire Department.
City Administrator Naomi Kelly is
overseeing the operation.
The area of focus is generally bounded
by Golden Gate, Sixth, Folsom, 14th
and Gough streets. The location was
based on 311 requests in the area
pertaining to such quality of life
concerns as discarded needles, human
waste, illegal dumping, trash, graffiti,
encampments, assaults, theft and
vandalism.
