Litter 101:
Don’t Trash SF
School’s back in session, and that means
a new season for the City’s anti-litter
student assemblies. The goal: encourage
our youngest generation to keep San
Francisco clean and looking good.
Public Works has teamed up with the
Department of the Environment to
teach students about the problems litter
causes, such as harming wildlife and
blighting our neighborhoods, and what
we can do to keep our beautiful city
from getting trashed.
Every year, our Giant Sweep program
in partnership with the Department of
the Environment’s Stop Litter program,
reaches thousands of students, from
kindergarten through 12th grade. Kids
care, and the more information we arm
them with about the importance of
being good stewards of our environment
and neighborhoods, the better for the
future of San Francisco.
