P ets have weaved their way into our hearts and our homes as critical members of the family. According to Forbes, pet ownership and expenditures have been on the rise since the Baby Boomer generation first started to humanize pets, and the subsequent generations followed. A report by the American Pet Products Association stated that pet ownership hit 68 percent in 2016, up 54 percent since 2009. The increase in pet ownership is also leading to increased spending on veterinary care, rising from $4.9 billion in 1991 to $35 billion in 2015. With our pets being so important to us, we continue to keep them healthy and happy whatever way possible. Ensuring annual trips to the vet is critical because although your pet my look and act seemingly healthy, there may be underlying issues that need to be addressed. “As a family-owned business for three generations, North Boros prioritizes the long-term relationship with each of our clients and often finds that we serve families who have been visiting our practice since our founding in the 1950s,” says Dr. Ken Bollens. “That longevity is a unique trait and something that we are very proud of. To us, relationships with pets and their families are not simply a transaction but something to be nurtured over time. We truly value caring for each furry member of the family as if they were our own.” 42 724.942.0940 TO ADVERTISE | Shaler
